Carol Ann Rapp, Co-Author
Queen of Diamonds

Carol Ann Rapp is known for her extensive experience as a historical researcher. A Missouri native, Rapp holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics and has lectured in that subject at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. She has prepared business reports for major corporations and prepared corporate audits for top companies, including Monsanto and May Company Retailers. Rapp has also consulted in specialized business computerization. Carol also has years of experience in radio (KSMU) and TV, holding positions ranging from flex staff in the newsroom to Traffic Manager to Assistant Program Director of KFVS (CBS) in Cape Girardeau. She quickly was promoted and began designing and writing for a locally produced children's show on KFVS. One of her most fun experiences was working with the then fledgling Dolly Parton on the popular "Porter Wagoner Show."

Both her academic materials and her poetry have been published. Queen of Diamonds marks the first time Rapp has worked on a biographical project. Her two and a half years of exhaustive research on the life of Evalyn Walsh McLean has taken her all over the nation from Colorado to Florida, spending most of her time in Colorado and at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

"I feel I know Evalyn and I have come to love and deeply respect the lady. There is a little bit of Evalyn in all of us," says Carol Ann.

Carol Ann is a single mother living in St. Louis and raising her 16-year-old daughter Katie. Katie is currently studying in Cambridge, England and is also an avid basketball player.

Joseph Gregory had this to say about his partner, "Carol brings great insight and creativity to Queen of Diamonds and has a wonderful way to bring cold hard facts to life. She has become as enthralled with Evalyn's life, as I have, and feels it is an untold American epic."
